Rain or Shine- Summer Safety Fair Scheduled for June 27

***Update as of 6/26/15, 1:30pm- We are still planning to hold our Summer Safety Fair despite rain predictions. We will be indoors and will continue outdoor kids activities when possible.***

Save the date for our first Summer Safety Fair at Safety City scheduled for Saturday, June 27.

Safety representatives, community organizations, and agencies will be on hand with exhibits and activities for children. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public from 11 am – 4 pm at 1160 Red Mile Place, Lexington, KY. Exhibitors include the Lexington Division of Police (with KidPrint ID), Lexington Fire Department, the Bluegrass Red Cross, Safe Kids Fayette County, Lexington YMCA, Fayette County Agriculture Extension, Bluegrass Greensource, Woodford Humane Society, CareSource, Walker-Harris Landscapes and Hardscapes, and Kosair Children's Hospital. Fresh Market on Tates Creek is donating food for the first 100 visitors.

Elementary age students can practice driving around Safety City. A bicycle rodeo courtesy of Kosair Children's Hospital will also be held. A pedestrian scavenger hunt will offer opportunities for prizes including a $50 gift card from Fayette Seed, over $60 in meal vouchers from Texas Roadhouse off Harrodsburg Road, two $50 gift cards from Fresh Market, and two children's bicycle helmets from the Lexington Bicycle Center.
